Gallery: Assassin's Creed Origins

In-game photography is my favorite trend of the current generation. Each photo mode deepens my appreciation for the art of game development while teaching me real-world rules of composition.

As an amateur photographer, these modes—which pause the action and unlock the camera to move almost anywhere in 3D space—create low-pressure environments to experiment with street, landscape, and portrait photography without the anxiety of missing the perfect shot. If I'm not feeling confident enough to go out with my actual camera, I can at least take creative pictures in a game like Assassin's Creed Origins.

With its ancient architecture, expressive characters, and breathtaking palette, Origins is an absolute joy to photograph.

I hope this photo journal helps you see the game through my eyes.
